Ambler-based Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund To Hold Annual Awards Dinner, 33rd Anniversary Celebration

Ambler, Pennsylvania, September 10, 2009 The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund, based in Ambler, PA, will hold its Annual Recognition and Awards Dinner at the William Penn Inn in Gwynedd, PA, on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. The dinner, a celebration of the Fund’s 33rd anniversary, will recognize those corporate, foundation, business, community groups and media partners, as well as students and volunteers whose extraordinary support contributed to the Fund’s ability to assist 900 families with seriously ill or disabled children this past fiscal year.

This year the Corporate Award will be presented to PJM Interconnection in recognition of financial and technical support that enabled the Dolan Fund to completely revamp their website. The Huston Foundation, the Foundation Award honoree, is being recognized for ongoing support, guidance, and insight and also for their assistance in funding the new website. CBS-3 and anchor Dave Huddleston are set to receive the Media Award for the Brotherly Love Segment, which introduced the Dolan Fund and its mission to thousands of viewers. The Fellowship Award will be presented to the Ambler Area Running Club and the Volunteer Achievement Award to Carolyn Andersen, of Doylestown, and Maple Glen resident Maripat Pressler. GMAC Mortgage, LLC, will be honored with the Volunteer Leadership Award for the continuing support of the company and its employees. The Jack C. Graham Jr. Courage Award will be presented to Janet and Douglas Wallace of Fort Washington. Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School will receive the School Initiative Award for their successful fundraising efforts, and Donna Hagerty, also of Fort Washington, will be recognized with the Director’s Award for her tireless work with the Holiday Adopt-A-Family program, which has responded to the holiday wishes of over 1500 families.

The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund has been helping children and families in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey since 1976. Founded by the parents of Kelly Anne Dolan, who died at six years old of a rare form of leukemia, the Fund provides advocacy, education, information, and financial assistance to cover the uninsured needs of families caring for terminally, critically, and chronically ill, severely disabled, and seriously injured children. The Fund has helped more than 17,000 families in crisis since its inception.

The Dolan Fund holds many events each year to raise funds for their assistance programs. Upcoming events include “Wine in Winter” on Saturday, February 5, at Normandy Farm in Blue Bell, and “Blues on Butler” tentatively scheduled for May 2010. Spirit of Philadelphia Partners With the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund To Bring "Spirit" to Children Battling Illness

WHAT: For the seventh year in a row, the Spirit of Philadelphia is partnering with the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund for a special cruise for families from around the Philadelphia region with children battling serious illnesses. During the last seven years, the Spirit of Philadelphia has hosted a special complimentary cruise for more than 2,000 patients, their siblings and parents on the ship, offering a bountiful lunch buffet, live entertainment, dancing and scenic daytime waterfront and city skyline views.

The Fund helps between 1,300 and 1,400 families a year and serves as a resource providing education, advocacy, information and financial assistance for the uninsured needs of families caring for seriously ill and physically challenged children.

Warm Up With “Wine in Winter” To Support Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund

Annual fundraiser is a night of wine, fun, food, and friends with donations from local restaurateurs who pair food with specialty wines and premium beers

AMBLER (Nov. 22, 2008) - Wine in Winter, an evening of hot fare for the cool palate to benefit seriously ill and disabled children in Greater Philadelphia, will be held Friday, February 6, 2009, from 7-11 p.m. at LuLu Temple (5140 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting, 19462).

The annual event features donations from local restaurateurs who pair an assortment of complementary foods with specialty wines and premium beers. A silent auction and music add to the delicious evening that benefits the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund. Cost is $50 per person ($30 of each ticket is tax-deductible). The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund provides education, advocacy, information, and financial assistance for the uninsured needs of families from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware who are caring for terminally, critically, or chronically ill children and those that are seriously disabled or injured. Since 1976, the Fund has supported more than 16,000 families in crisis, assisting with everything from utility bills and specialized equipment to transportation expenses and burial costs.
